The prospective applicant must have knowledge of the Section 8 Program administered by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) as well as the program regulations affiliated with the New York State Housing and Community Renewal (HCR) Programs. The Rome Housing Authority will conduct the Regular Tenant Election on June 19, 2024 for the purpose of electing two (2) tenant representatives to the Board of Commissioners. The newly elected commissioners will represent Colonial I, Colonial II, Valentine Apartments, and Liberty Garden Apartments, and shall serve a term from July 1, 2024 to June 30, 2026. If you are a tenant in good standing, have been a legal resident since March 18, 2024, and are interested in running, please feel free to stop by the office during regular business hours, to collect the necessary paperwork.
